This double dark chocolate banana bread is dense, moist, and full of chocolate flavor. I love baking banana bread because in the heat of the Texas summer, bananas are under-ripe one day, and browning the next. I particularly enjoy this recipe because I think it’s a great substitution to brownies. It’s something I’ll eat for breakfast, dessert, or just a quick snack in the middle of the day!
There are so many substitutions for this recipe. Check out my strawberry banana bread post here!

Notes
Chocolate not your thing? Swap the cocoa powder for a teaspoon of cinnamon and replace the chocolate chips with fresh, chopped apples.
You may need to alter your bake time depending on your oven; when I moved into my house and started using a gas oven for the first time, I had to re-work all of my recipes! Don’t get discouraged.
