Double Chocolate MNM Cookies

I don’t think there is any cookie that’s more fun than an MNM cookie. Cute, fun, and super simple, this recipe is sure to give everyone a smile and a bit of nostalgia.

🍴 12 Cookies │⏱ Prep Time: 15 Minutes │⏱ Bake Time: 10 Minutes│ Total Time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup MNMs
1 1/2 tablespoon dark cocoa powder

Equipment
mixing bowl or stand mixer
whisk or stand mixer
measuring cups
cookie tray
cookie scoop
foil
cooling rack
spatula
rolling pin

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 egg yolks.

  3. Add in 1/4 cup butter and mix.

  4. Add in 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and mix.

  5. Add 1/2 cup flour and 1 1/2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder and mix

  6. Fold in 1/4 cups MNMs

  7. Use a cookie scoop to scoop your cookies onto a foiled cookie sheet.

  8. Using excess, press a few MNMs into the cookie dough

  9. Bake for 5 minutes

  10. Remove from oven

  11. Press a few more MNMs onto the cookies

  12. Bake for 5 more minutes

  13. Remove from oven

  14. Tap the cookie sheet onto counter to deflate the cookies

  15. Transfer to a cooling rack or plate

  16. Serve and enjoy!


Notes

Tapping your cookie tray on the counter isn't required, but deflating the cookies gives them a nice wrinkly texture and helps keep them moist!

The trick to having picture perfect cookies is saving a little bit of topping for the halfway bake mark. This helps evenly distribute your toppings.

You may need to alter your bake time depending on your oven; when I moved into my house and started using a gas oven for the first time, I had to re-work all of my recipes! Don’t get discouraged.
